But there is a ray of hope in the last two previous defeats: rather than the usual blow outs, the Raiders have kept games close. The Raiders have stayed competitive. These last two losses have been by one TD or less.
It's encouraging to see the Raiders keep fighting after falling behind by 17 points with 14 minutes to go. The Raiders were once a team that would lay down and give up. Not these Raiders who have been in games decided by one possession the last three weeks.
Don't get me wrong, I would much rather see Raiders victories than close defeats. But in the tough losses, I am not blind to the fighting spirit of this team. I refuse to say "here we go again" after four games and a 1-3 record.
The Raiders have a huge game against the Chargers next week to begin divisional play. This is the Raiders' chance to turn the page on the last seven years of 5-11 or worse seasons by beating the team they have lost to 13 straight times.
