It's come to my attention that the Oakland Raiders are still being named as candidates for landing a quarterback this off-season, via draft or free agency.
As you know, the current starting quarterback is Jason Campbell.
After a shaky start which included getting benched for Bruce Gradkowski, Campbell finished the season off strong, going 6-4 in his last 10 starts, to go along with an 84.5 passer rating.
Many in Raider Nation argue that we need a franchise quarterback like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady; a guy who can single-handedly win football games.
I beg to differ.
We all know how Oakland's offense works.
If you don't, let me explain.
Back in the Jon Gruden days, the Raiders used a horizontal passing game that struck fear into opposing secondaries. That was the exception, though, and not the rule.
Oakland's conventional offense favors the run game, to open up the play-action game.
But I'll get into that in a later slide.
My main point: Jason Campbell is the man for the Oakland Raiders.
