With a critical matchup ahead for the Raiders against the Miami Dolphins, McClain is simply a distraction heading into a must-win game on the road.
It won't be easy as the Miami Dolphins have all of a sudden found their stride. Had it not been for late comebacks by the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos and New York Giants, the Dolphins would be riding a six-game winning streak.
McClain is only in his second season in the NFL and he isn't making the type of name for himself that the Raiders had been hoping for.
The question is then raised as to whether or not McClain should be allowed by Hue Jackson to play this Sunday at Miami.
Oakland is in first place of the AFC West heading into Sunday, and Hue Jackson must take that into consideration.
McClain is still dealing with an ankle injury that already has him listed as questionable for Sunday's game. This incident should place him in the out category so he can get healthy.
There is no denying that Rolando McClain is innocent until proven guilty, but considering his health and the magnitude of the situation, he should not play this Sunday.
It would be wise of the Raiders to have McClain stay away from the team until the whole fiasco is sorted out.
When New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg near the end of the 2008 season, the Giants suspended their star receiver four games and fined him as well.
Once again, the Raiders will have to wait for everything to be sorted out. They should certainly tread carefully when dealing with their young linebacker.
