Nick Young Attributes Lakers’ Win over Warriors to His Feeling ‘Swagalicious’

Kobe Bryant rested, the Los Angeles Lakers beat Golden State 115-105, and Nick Young said some patently absurd things Tuesday night.

Yes, it was a strange and eventful evening at the Staples Center that included, among other holiday miracles, a Vlade Divac half-court shot that made a generation of former Pog collectors cheer.

These weird occurrences could be attributed to any number of things. Young, however, has an easy explanation for the universe taking a shine to his Lakers on Tuesday night.

He was feeling "swagalicious."

Young says he rolled into the Staples Center with the top down on his newly purchased '62 Chevy Impala—an early Christmas present from girlfriend Iggy Azalea—and could tell from the strong currents of swagger running through his body that the night would be a success.

Vine user Rob Perez captured Young's admission.

Lakers beat reporter Mike Trudell shot a Vine of Young driving out of the Staples Center in his new car without hands. You can and should watch it forever.

As mentioned prior, Young also took credit for Divac's $90,000 charity shot, pointing out how his swag affects everyone in his general vicinity.

Finally, Young said the team won because certain Lakers players began playing like Django Unchained against the Warriors.

I'm not going to touch that remark, but the takeaway from the night is this: Bryant sat, the Lakers prospered, and Swaggy felt more swagalicious than ever. Young went 5-of-13 from the field for 15 points and five rebounds in 30 minutes, and seven different Lakers reached double figures in scoring.

Los Angeles will never bench a healthy Bryant for extended periods, but based on Tuesday night's performance, it's possible the Lakers could rest him enough lose a shot at a top lottery pick.
