Henry Ruptures Achilles
The Lakers' official Twitter account reported the latest on Henry's injury:
The team would later confirm the tendon was ruptured:
Henry, 23, has been a decent role player for Los Angeles when he's been on the court. However, injuries have had an impact on his overall play.
Coach Byron Scott spoke about how the injuries have set Henry back, per Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News:
"He’s not that explosive guy he used to be. I don’t know if that will come back or not," said Scott. "I loved his athleticism and the fact that he could attack the basket. His relentlessness to attack the basket contributed to the injuries as well."
Needless to say, the concern now is likely more focused on Henry's overall health rather than his play on the court. Having Wesley Johnson and Nick Young gives the Lakers depth at the position, so the team still has talent if Henry misses more time.
