Surprise! JaMarcus Russell Finally Released By Oakland Raiders

Mark this one down as a bust.

As rumored, the Oakland Raiders have finally released disgruntled quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

With the recent addition of Jason Campbell, Russell became expandable.

Since being the first overall selection of the 2007 NFL Draft, Russell has had an average QB rating of 65.2, with 18 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.

Many former teammates described Russell as lazy , and over weight . One coach even described him as a binge eater .

On the bright side, Oakland is actually starting to make some very nice moves, having a nice looking draft, and picking up Jason Campbell from the Washington Redskins for a 2012 draft pick.

Campbell, who I personally believe will be a great quarterback, has put up an average QB rating of 82.3 with 55 touchdowns and 38 interceptions since being drafted 25th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Redskins.

Each year since being named starter, Campbell's numbers have gotten better and better, which is impressive considering the coaching carousel out in Washington over his years with the team.

With Russell gone, the Raiders can officially take a deep breath, and finally move on. The future is starting to look good.
